the eagle flies...

Two greats - Albert King & Stevie Ray Vaughan - performing Stormy Monday.

In playing blues guitar, Vaughan, truly, has few peers.

I normally don’t blog much about my day to day ... but ... Sunday afternoon through last night I was at the hospital with my father. Serious bout of hemorrhaging - 2.2 liters - but he is recovering now, and regaining his strength. He has such a strong will, and that’s exactly what he needs.

Sam, I'm so sorry to hear about your father -- my thoughts are with you and your family -- and hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Sam, watching a parent suffer is perhaps only superceded by witnessing a daughter or son's bout with an illness. I wish you both the best and a quick recovery.

I hope your father feels better soon.

Gosh, I hope things have improved. One of the things I share with my dad is a love of blues--musicians like King and Vaughan--so this was a doubly resonant post for me.

Thanks to Suzanne, Nick, Ivy, & Sandra for your thoughts. I appreciate them. My father is doing much better, and is now home.
