getting away from the I

If I’ve done my work well, I vanish completely from the scene. I believe it is invasive of the work when you know too much about the writer.

I have to disagree with Miss Mary. Perhaps she doesn't want anyone to connect with her, but when you take too much of the "writer" out you lose the soul of the poem. It happens so often and that's my least favorite poetry.

I read this yesterday and thought the same thing as Collin. It's probably why I'm not a huge fan of her work, either - but, I do respect her opinion. Different strokes....

Different strokes is true - I just happen think that the writer always gets in the way of the writing. I realize it's not the only way - but it's the way I can see.
