i'll have to check out these films, sam -- especially vampyr.
i've been meaning to reply to your film request for days. i just saw "the pillow book" (peter greenaway, dir) which i found very inspiring, image-wise, as a poet. "leolo" (jean-claude lauzon) is one of my fave movies -- if you like black humor and surrealism. "hero" (yimou zhang) has breathtaking cinematography and interesting insights.
have you seen "guerre du feu" (jean-jacques annaud, dir)? i heard really good things about it. it's on my wish list.

I keep watching Trois Colours, but have never seen the double life of veronique-- Must check it out...Vampyr too-- i never heard of either

Great post and photos, Sam. Classic films. The Double Life of Veronique is brilliant. Should be required viewing. I go back to it again and again.
Thanks for the visit, Squirrel. The trilogy is great, and for me, Double Life is the actual beginning of that set. Once you see it, you'll get the connection. Kieslowski made films on such a grand scale.
