a meme of the unspectacular...

A meme about the ordinary, the unspectacular - Melissa tagged me...

Here are six unspectacular things about me:

1. Just now, I opened my top desk drawer, pulled out an alto recorder, a blue dart, a toy lead soldier (British), and an unsharpened pencil with the name of a local band (former), Apartment #9.
2. In my truck's cd player - Stevie Ray Vaughan's Texas Flood.
3. The total cost of my own birth, according to my Mother, was $25 - which she paid in change, mostly ... I was born in a coast guard station's radio building with a medical room upstairs. Where we lived, the nearest hospital was 2 ferries and 70 miles away.
4. I don't like beets.
5. I have a great affection for Hammer films.
6. My toothpaste of choice, Colgate.

I dislike beets as well. Thanks for playing! PS: #1 is not unspectacular at all!

My goodness, Sam, I thought the Colgate fact was most spectacular! It is a vital personal choice.

I am surprised the current presidential candidates have not weighed in on it. So much erosion of our freedom...what's next? Our toothpaste choice. I'm pro-choice.

Your choice of toothpaste is between you and your conscious and/or God.

I believe the toothpaste situation is just that dire.

Oh what would we do if you had chosen Tom's of Maine!

Subvert the dominate paradigm!

Coast guard station's radio building - that means she had no anesthesia or epidural?! Strong woman.

Beets - Yuck

Toothpaste - I'm all over the Colgate with peroxide and baking soda!

Texas Flood seems prophetic today.

I don't like beets either.

I loathed beets as a child.

I tried them recently on a complete whim and now love them.

Same goes for sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts.

You know, your taste for food changes over time. I used to have an out of control sweet tooth and now, I can't stand anything super sweet. So, if your hatred of beets is based on childhood taste buds, you oughta give 'em a try now as an adult.

I thought #3 was pretty remarkable actually. I was almost born in ambulance. I'll put that on my list.

Thanks for tagging me.

I know there's some kind of "And the beets go on" joke there, but it's unlikely todays kids would get it...

I dislike beets, but snakes are even worse.
I liked the idea of MEME and started it at Wingtips.
